15th Annual Desert Storm - April 24th-27th, 2012

This is the time of year when the REALLY, REALLY big boats come to town. Some are hauled by 18-wheelers, many are so wide that they travel on their sides.

Desert Storm comes to my town for 4 magnificent days. It has something for everyone. Even fur-babies come to checkout the boats (and leave p-mail on the trailer tires). Take a look at this schedule:

Event Schedule:
Wednesday, April 24th: Havasu For Youth Charity Rides
Thursday, April 25th: Desert Storm Street Party on Main Street (McCulloch Blvd. from Smoketree Ave. to Acoma Blvd.)
Friday, April 26th: Desert Storm Poker Run
Saturday, April 27th: Desert Storm Shootout in Thompson Bay

These photos are from the Main Street Party!

This is the way to haul a massive boat in style!
Each leather passenger seat has its own DVD player in the headrest of the seat in front of it.

Saturday morning, Daddy, Mommy & I loaded up to watch the Desert Storm Shootout in Thompson Bay.
As it turns out, we weren't the only ones with that idea.
Look closer - that's 2 Jeeps "driving" in the water.
"Where do they get their toys?"
People had taken their RVs, pop-up shades, chairs, and it even looks like potty chairs in the water - just kidding - they're floaties.
I'm here as Daddy's assistant.  It's my job to be on point to find the coolest boats so Daddy can take photos.
These are major "go-fast" boats - up to 200 mph.
Camera crews are trying to capture the true moments of speed.

"Yo Ho! Yo Ho! It's the Priates' Cove Boat!"

And I thought I had a lot of toys . . .
