Early to bed & early to rise . . .
Makes you tired for the rest of the day!
3:00 a.m. Alarm . . . What are they thinking?!?!
While I curled up in bed and slept, everyone else was up around 3:00 a.m., had breakfast at 4:00 a.m., and made it to the Balloon Field around 5:30 a.m.. It was cold, rainy, & dark. The mountain range was obscured by clouds. However, Daddy was able to park near the front gate (let it be noted that >90% of the time, Daddy nabs a close parking spot!). As Daddy & Uncle Carlos made their way to the Balloon Field, everyone else nestled down and slept in the car. That is everyone slept until Daddy & Uncle Carlos made it back to the car and mentioned that the vendors were already open. Auntie Debra & Mommy were out of the car SO fast, it startled Jannik awake. Shopping can do that, you know. Maybe that would make a great new bumper sticker - "Shopping is Startling to Your Health". What do you think?
Because of the rain, the balloons were not ascending; however, many were nice enough to inflate. This helped to lift the spirits of the crowd.
Here are some photos to enjoy.
